We are giving the community an opportunity to support our well-performing middle and high school homeschool Science Olympiad teams comprised of students aged 11-18 in DuPage, Cook & Will counties. Currently, Prairie Paideia sponsors these teams for whatever isn’t covered through registration fees. As Prairie Paideia is trying to expand, we are welcoming directed donations to specifically support the teams.

We are a “Do your best” team and IT WORKS. We focus on what went wrong as a learning opportunity rather than a point of shame. We instill in our students that you don’t have to get a medal to help the group. We direct instruct them on self-advocacy and sportsmanship (and often win the Spirit Award at every level of competition including State). And we ensure that students are supported.

Your support will enable us to cover competition registration fees, provide more social gatherings, replenish consumables, cover copying costs for competitions (where we are required to produce an event – sometimes for 55 teams), and purchase more preparation materials. Beyond that, we’d love to be able to keep SciOly and our additional social gatherings accessible to all students by removing financial obligations for the families to participate in extra/social activities and fee-based learning opportunities.
