In this video, I address a question often asked by viewers, and that is if a ketogenic diet can effectively treat ADHD. To answer this question, I examine a review of all of the scientific literature on the issue just published in late 2024 and referenced below. The review shows that there is incredibly little evidence available as yet to answer this question. What is available is primarily several studies on animal models of ADHD involving rats and dogs. Only one clinical study exists and it studied children with epilepsy, for which this diet is known to have some benefits. The study found some improvement in ADHD symptoms in those cases, but that is hardly evidence for effectiveness in people with the clinical diagnosis of ADHD. And there are no studies of adults with ADHD at this time. So the answer to the question of whether this diet treats ADHD is "We Don't Know!" As of now, there exists no compelling evidence that the diet can treat ADHD mainly because there is little to no research on the issue. Hopefully more work will be done on the matter. Reference N. E.
